How to solve the color difference of zirconia crowns

Sep 13, 2024

This article mainly explains in detail the color deviation problem when firing crowns. These are all common problems and explain the solutions. If you have other questions, we welcome you to leave me a message and we will help you solve the problem. Thank you

The first problem: All teeth produced are blue/green to varying degrees

Common causes: There are varying degrees of pollution in the sintering furnace

Solution: Run the cleaning program in the sintering furnace/clean the container/put the discarded zirconium blocks for empty sintering

The second problem: The cutting end or missing part of the zirconia crown is blue/green

Common causes: The cutting end or missing part of the zirconia crown is contaminated

Solution: All hands, tools, and solutions that have touched the cutting end are cleaned, and the same is true for the missing part

The third problem: White spots appear locally on the zirconia crown

Common causes: Foreign matter is wrapped into the surface of the tooth during the sintering process

Solution: Replace the sintering zirconium beads, check whether the insulation cotton has fallen off, Make sure there is no dirt

The fourth problem: black and brown spots appear locally

Common cause: the heating rod (sic/Mosi2) of the sintering furnace has epidermal shedding

Solution: If white spots appear on the surface of the heating rod (sic/Mosi2), it means that it has shedding. Run the empty burning program to burn the remaining pieces and burn off the epidermis; in serious cases, the heating rod needs to be replaced

The fifth problem: the permeability of the zirconium crown is not up to standard

Common cause: the furnace temperature of the sintering furnace is too low and does not meet the preset standard.

Solution: calibrate the furnace temperature or manually increase the preset temperature

The sixth problem: the crown is reddish

Common cause: the problem of the dyeing liquid

Solution: the dyeing liquid is exposed to direct sunlight or the storage temperature is too high. Avoid direct sunlight and refrigerate

The seventh problem: the crown is brownish

Common cause: the dyeing liquid deteriorates
Solution: dispose of it in time
